The day began with a joint tour of the trade fair, which focussed on the topic of ‘Co-location of wind energy generation and energy storage’. This gave the new members the opportunity to meet existing BVES members directly. The exhibitors visited included Arge Netz, Enercity Erneuerbare GmbH, Siemens Energy, be-storaged, MVV & Juwi, Trianel, Notus and Ørsted. Afterwards, the BVES board meeting followed, in which a political and market review of the developments in the specialised work and the topic planning were discussed. The exchange provided valuable impetus and intensive discussions on current challenges and progress in the energy storage industry.

Political impulse from Schleswig-Holstein

State Secretary Joschka Knuth from the Ministry for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature of the State of Schleswig-Holstein emphasised the crucial role of energy storage systems in reducing costs in industry in his political speech. From September, a new directive will apply in Schleswig-Holstein that incentivises the use of storage systems in industry. The day ended with a meet & greet at the GP Joule GmbH stand, where participants took the opportunity to deepen their discussions and make new contacts.
