FAQ FOR NEW MEM­BERS

Mem­ber­ship in the asso­cia­tion is vol­un­t­ary and divi­ded into dif­fe­rent cate­go­ries: ordi­nary, cor­po­rate, sup­port­ing, or for­eign mem­bers.

  • Ordi­nary mem­bers are com­pa­nies and orga­niza­ti­ons based or ope­ra­ting in Ger­many in the energy sto­rage sec­tor.
  • Cor­po­rate mem­bers are asso­cia­ti­ons or orga­niza­ti­ons with simi­lar objec­ti­ves or an inte­rest in pro­mo­ting the asso­cia­tion.
  • Sup­port­ing mem­bers are legal or natu­ral per­sons who do not meet the requi­re­ments for ordi­nary mem­ber­ship but are inte­res­ted in sup­port­ing the association’s goals.
  • For­eign mem­bers have the same sta­tus as ordi­nary or sup­port­ing mem­bers, depen­ding on their acti­vi­ties.

The first step to joi­ning is to sub­mit a writ­ten appli­ca­tion to the natio­nal office. The final decis­ion on admis­sion is made at the next board mee­ting.

Com­pa­nies, busi­nesses, orga­niza­ti­ons as ordi­nary mem­bers:
• with 01 to 09 employees: EUR 1,000.00

• with 50 to 99 employees: EUR 4,000.00
• with 100 to 249 employees: EUR 5,500.00
• with 250 to 599 employees: EUR 7,000.00

To engage in the asso­cia­ti­on’s tech­ni­cal acti­vi­ties, mem­ber­ship is requi­red. You can find an over­view of the asso­cia­ti­on’s com­mit­tees here. If you are inte­res­ted in working on spe­ci­fic working groups or topics, please cont­act the office by email. As a par­ti­ci­pant in working groups, you can con­tri­bute your topics during mee­tings and work on cur­rent focal points. You will also receive regu­lar updates via the email dis­tri­bu­tion list.

You can stay infor­med about cur­rent deve­lo­p­ments on our web­site or fol­low us on social media via Twit­ter and Lin­ke­dIn. As a mem­ber, you will also receive our news­let­ter and monthly report on asso­cia­tion acti­vi­ties. You will also be invi­ted to inter­nal mem­ber events to dis­cuss cur­rent topics.

We offer a variety of events for mem­bers, inclu­ding sec­tor-spe­ci­fic con­fe­ren­ces, com­mit­tee mee­tings, work­shops, and con­fe­ren­ces on spe­ci­fic topics. Regu­lar mem­ber mee­tings are also held, where all ordi­nary mem­bers have active and pas­sive voting rights. These events enable mem­bers to exch­ange infor­ma­tion on cur­rent deve­lo­p­ments, par­ti­ci­pate in decis­ion-making pro­ces­ses, and shape the future of the asso­cia­tion. Addi­tio­nally, we offer spe­cial con­di­ti­ons for par­ti­ci­pa­tion in the energy trade fair Volta‑X in Stutt­gart.

The asso­cia­tion net­work is a diverse net­work of mem­ber com­pa­nies of all sizes that cover the entire value chain of the energy sto­rage sec­tor and energy sto­rage eco­nomy. It encom­pas­ses orga­niza­ti­ons, insti­tu­ti­ons, and key play­ers in the sec­tor, inclu­ding finan­cial firms, law offices, and rese­arch insti­tu­tes. The net­work also includes repre­sen­ta­ti­ves from govern­ment and poli­tics.

The net­work is both natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal, invol­ving part­ners and com­mit­tees from various count­ries. It includes indus­try asso­cia­ti­ons from other count­ries and Ger­man Cham­bers of Com­merce Abroad (AHKs), pro­vi­ding access to inter­na­tio­nal mar­kets and fos­te­ring inter­na­tio­nal col­la­bo­ra­tion. Through this exten­sive net­work, the asso­cia­tion allows its mem­bers to estab­lish valuable cont­acts, form part­ner­ships, and stay infor­med about cur­rent deve­lo­p­ments and oppor­tu­ni­ties in the energy sto­rage sec­tor.
