Recap of the Volta-Xch­ange Con­fe­rence 2024: Impul­ses for the future of the energy tran­si­tion

The agenda for the con­fe­rence was defi­ned by a pre­sen­ta­tion by Carola Best from the Ger­man IPCC Coor­di­na­tion Centre on the latest Assess­ment Report of the Inter­go­vern­men­tal Panel on Cli­mate Change on glo­bal warm­ing, its effects and poten­tial adapt­a­tion stra­te­gies. Dr Mirko Sauer from Brahms Nebel law firm pre­sen­ted an over­view of EU energy policy in the con­text of the Fit55 pro­gramme. Flo­rian Gal­ler from the Aus­trian Fede­ral Minis­try for Cli­mate Pro­tec­tion pre­sen­ted solu­ti­ons for energy com­mu­ni­ties in Aus­tria.

Poli­ti­cal impe­tus at state level was pro­vi­ded by Minis­te­rial Direc­tor Dr Michael Mün­ter (Baden-Würt­tem­berg Minis­try of the Envi­ron­ment, Cli­mate Pro­tec­tion and the Energy Sec­tor), who under­li­ned the cen­tral role of fle­xi­bi­lity and empha­si­zed the importance of sec­tor cou­pling.

Jörg Blau­rock from 3 Ener­gie Con­sul­ting pre­sen­ted the BVES indus­try figu­res for 2023/24, which pro­vi­ded a com­pre­hen­sive pic­ture of the deve­lo­p­ment of the sto­rage sec­tor inclu­ding trends, expec­ta­ti­ons and chal­lenges.

These topics were explo­red more clo­sely in the work­shops, where renow­ned com­pa­nies such as ADS Tec, EnBW, GP Joule, BayWa r.e., Option‑e, ads-tec Energy, Aral pulse, APCOA PAR­KING Hol­dings GmbH, Trans­net BW, Indri­ve­tec and FRoSTA AG pre­sen­ted and dis­cus­sed various pro­jects and solu­ti­ons in the areas of char­ging infra­struc­ture, neigh­bour­hood solu­ti­ons and the decar­bo­ni­sa­tion of indus­try.. The day was roun­ded off with a panel dis­cus­sion on the energy tran­si­tion with sec­tor cou­pling, fol­lo­wed by an exclu­sive evening net­wor­king event.
