BVES pres­ents new prac­­tice-based sto­rage stra­tegy

The main goal of this land­mark docu­ment is to give prac­ti­cal mea­ning to the defi­ni­tion of energy sto­rage, which comes into force on July 1, and to faci­li­tate the inte­gra­tion of sto­rage tech­no­lo­gies into the energy sys­tem. The stra­tegy con­ta­ins tan­gi­ble pro­po­sals for legal adjus­t­ments to ensure smooth imple­men­ta­tion of sto­rage tech­no­lo­gies.

In close coope­ra­tion with renow­ned law firms and rese­arch insti­tu­tes, the Energy Law WG has worked inten­si­vely on these pro­po­sals for change during the last few months. The aim was not only to deve­lop theo­re­ti­cal con­cepts, but to pre­sent prac­tice-ori­en­ted solu­ti­ons.

The deve­lo­p­ment and ope­ra­tion of a sus­tainable and secure energy sys­tem requi­res a fle­xi­ble approach and a holi­stic view of the entire energy sys­tem. The imple­men­ta­tion of sto­rage tech­no­lo­gies as the fourth pil­lar of energy sup­ply requi­res appro­priate legal frame­work con­di­ti­ons.

As a repre­sen­ta­tive of the sto­rage indus­try, BVES is proud to pre­sent this com­pre­hen­sive stra­tegy and is con­fi­dent that it will make a posi­tive con­tri­bu­tion to the suc­cessful imple­men­ta­tion of the energy tran­si­tion. The BVES sto­rage stra­tegy is an important step towards a sus­tainable and future-proof energy sup­ply.
